day 1 – 15/01/2025 • Monrovia

• Arrival in Monrovia, meet your guide and driver at the airport
• We will start the day by exploring the city: National Museum, Ducor Hotel, the First Presidential palace/pavilion ever built in Liberia and The Centennial Pavilion where most Liberian presidents were inaugurated
• Visit Providence Island, the most important historic place in Liberia

day 2 – 16/01/2025 • Monrovia – Bo

• In the morning, visit the ruined Hotel Africa and Unity conference center
• Continue your journey to the border, to enter Sierra Leone
• On the way to Bo, visit a diamond mine depicting the harsh days of the civil war

day 3 – 17/01/2025 – Bo – Freetown

• After breakfast, we’ll hit the road towards Freetown
• Upon arrival, visit the Furabey College (the first university-level institution in Africa) and the National Railway Museum

day 4 – 18/01/2025 • Freetown

• The day is dedicated to exploring the sites of Freetown: visit the famous Cotton Tree (a 500-year-old tree in the middle of a roundabout), Sierra Leone National Museum, St. George’s Cathedral, Sierra Leone Peace Museum, King’s Gate and Tambakula Arts and Crafts Center
• We will also visit the chimp sanctuary in Freetown, that rescues chimps held on chains and in boxes, prepares them for the wild and sets them free

day 5 – 19/01/2025 • Banana Island – River #2 Beach

• After breakfast, take up your water shoes to prepare a for wooden boat ride
• We head to Kent, a coastline village, to get on a boat to Banana Island, an island used from 1600s to 1800s as a transit point for thousands of slaves taken from Sierra Leone
• Take some time to relax at the River #2 Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Western Africa
• Head back in the evening to our hotel in Freetown

day 6 – 20/01/2025 • Freetown – Conakry

• Get ready for a long drive to Conakry
• Upon arrival, we will visit the great mosque of Conakry, the local market, the fishing port and the Los islands.

day 7 – 21/01/2025 • Conakry – Kindia

• You will leave Conakry to Kindia in the morning
• On the way, we will explore local villages
• Visit Kindia upon arrival

day 8 – 22/01/2025 • Kindia – Dalaba

• Head in the morning to visit Dalaba
• When the French colonized Guinea, they used Dalaba to retreat from heat: the climate of this region is cooler, coming as low as 16 degrees Celsius

day 9 – 23/01/2025 • Dalaba – Labe

• Today, we will visit the stunning Dittinn and the Kambadaga waterfalls, which will take most of the day
• Upon arrival in Labe, we will head to the cultural museum for a proper understanding of the Fulani culture

day 10 – 24/01/2025 • Labe – Gabu

• Today, we have a long drive ahead, to enter Guinea Bissau through Buruntuma border
• Upon arrival, we will rest in our hotel in Gabu, a city with lots of colonial buildings that once housed Portuguese colonizers

day 11 – 25/01/2025 • Gabu – Bissau

• Early in the morning, we will begin the long journey to Bissau, the capital city of Guinea Bissau
• Upon arrival in Bissau, we will stop at the airport to take a few pictures of the statue of the founder
• Late lunch at the hotel and relax in the afternoon

day 12 – 26/01/2025 • Bissau

• We will start the day by visiting the fishing port, colonial seat of former Portuguese governors which is currently used as Military base, the current presidential palace, craft market and many more
• In the evening, we will find a nice local concert

day 13 – 27/01/2025 • Quinhamel

• In the morning, you will visit Quinhamel, a town very famous for oysters: most visitors come mainly for the local restaurants, but also its colonial nature
• Later in the day, we will visit the well know local fabric designer who makes his fabrics from local materials

day 14 – 28/01/2025 • Departure

• Say goodbye to your guide and driver: transfer to the airport, depending on departure time
